As Mother's Day is just around the corner, we will be looking into some of the places to bring your mum for a memorable treat this year.
1. Mikuni

If your mother loves Japanese cuisine, she is in for a delight at Mikuni. Available from 7th to 9th May, the Mother’s Day Lunch Special features traditional Japanese cuisine with a modern twist.

Consisting a total of six courses, Mikuni's Mother's Day set lunch kicks off with the appetizer: their Signature Kyushu Onsen egg, paired with a fresh seafood salad and lobster abalone to whet one's appetite.
The first of the 4 main courses is the Kampachi (a.k.a Longfin Yellowtail) Sashimi, accompanied with a Truffle Soy dip. Following that, the Tempura dish is a combination of 4 carefully curated items. Prawn, Kinmedai (Splendid Alfonsino), Shiitake mushrooms and Shishitou peppers. A fan of Hai Di Lao or Beauty in The Pot? The next dish will be right up your alley! Mikuni's King Crab hotpot is known to leave diners wanting more after each bite. Finishing off the main courses is the delectable California Roll, containing fresh crab, avocado and tobiko.

Diners will wrap up Mikuni's culinary tour with a Green Tea Opera Cake, paired with a macaron and Kuzumochi Ice that is guaranteed to satisfy their sweet tooth.

2. Hai Tien Lo
Next on our list is Hai Tien Lo. This restaurant features classic Cantonese dishes, inspired by homestyle recipes that will let you reminisce about your mum's home cooking.

Hai Tien Lo's carefully curated Loving Home Mother's Day menu runs from 3rd to 9th May can be shared among four diners.

Diners begin the meal with the first of eight courses, the Traditional Mum's Homemade Nutritious Soup, followed by a classic abalone dish, the Braised Whole Abalone with Sea Cucumber and Vegetable Sprouts.
No Chinese restaurant is complete without a steamed Soon Hock dish. Diners can pick between two preparation choices for their third course on the menu:
1) Steamed with Shredded Ginger and Spring Onions
2) Steamed with Tangerine Peel in Black Bean Sauce
A family staple in Guangdong, the next dish is Sliced Beef with Kai Lan sautéed in Oyster Sauce. Known for its tenderness among regulars, Hai Tien Lo's Stewed Duck is presented in a heated claypot and served with Fragrant Yam in Fermented Beancurd Sauce. Finishing off the main course will be a classic Chinese Ramen wok-fried with Seafood and Sakura Shrimps, with the shrimp elevating the fragrance from this traditional delicacy.
After the heavy meal, diners get to wash it all down with a Chilled Oolong Tea Jelly, topped with Rose Petals and Snow Swallows to soothe their stomachs.
Finally, as per Chinese traditions, the meal is ended off with the iconic peach-shaped mini Longevity Buns. These buns represent the Peaches of Immortality, signifying immortality or longevity in Chinese culture.

Attention all meat-lovers! The Grill kitchen features a wide array of proteins and cuts, like their very own Sangus (not to be confused with Angus) beef bone-in ribeye , char-grilled roaring forties lamb, rotisserie spiced chicken and chargrilled yellowfin tuna, and chorizo sausages.

The Seafood counter features a fresh selection of seasonal rock oysters, Boston lobsters, Spencer Gulf wild king prawns, mussels & clams, and accompanying condiments. The Blue Swimmer crab cake, an appetizer dish, comes with generous servings of remoulade sauce.
- Steam basket: Traditional Chinese delights

If your palate leans more towards Asian flavours, the Steam Basket is for you. One of Mezza9's specialties, diners will definitely enjoy their Wok-fried Boston lobster noodles (for two to share). Some other dishes include Angus beef wok-fried with onion, chilli and spicy sauce, and mudcrabs wok-fried with chilli, black or white pepper sauce.

For Sushi lovers, the Mezza9 Sushi kitchen carries Nirigi & Sashimi such as the Vietnamese yellowfin tuna, salmon responsibly farmed from Faroese salmon farming company Bakkafrost, and New Zealand's yellowtail kingfish. They also have different varieties of Makizushi such as California maki, spicy tuna or salmon maki and spicy salmon maki, and Japanese miso soup.

No authentic Thai kitchen will not feature Tom Yam Goong. Made from scratch, the Thai kitchen's take on Tom Yam Goong comes with black tiger prawns, lemongrass, galangal, and chilli. Another item on the Thai menu is Nuea Nam-Tok, a Thai grilled Sangus beef salad mixed with Thai parsley, spring onion, tamarind and chilli. Lastly, the flavours from Yam Som-O, a spicy pomelo salad paired with shredded chicken, will definitely tingle your tastebuds
